Labour pledged not to increase taxes on working people. The manifesto specifically said Labour would not increase:

• National Insurance.
• The basic, higher or additional rates of Income Tax.
• VAT. The manifesto instead proposed tax changes focused on non-doms, private schools, private equity carried interest and tax avoidance.
